We could not think of a better laudator: Reinold Meissner, German extreme mountain climber and adventurer, is enthusiastic about the ergobag idea and appreciates the courage and managerial performance of the ergobag founders. The Brand Award honored us for our "excellent performance in branding". We received the prize in front of 1.000 guests. A great honor - we are really greatful and pleased!

Our WOW-factors convinced the jury

Ergonomic, customizable, sustainable and visible: Thanks to these four features many grade schooler carry the ergobag to school every day. We combine the ergonomic principles of innovative trekking backpacks with everything required for school. ergobag school backpacks grow along and can be adjusted to the individual height of each child - from 1,10m to 1,40m. The school backpacks are really comfortable, because they distribute the weight from the shoulders to the more stable pelvic area due to the aluminium rail and borad hip belts. Thanks to the exchangeable Kletties each child can customize his or her backpack individually. We also took care of optimal visibility: All school backpacks are equipped with sufficient reflective material. Fluorescent Safety Sets in four stron colors - orange, green, yellow, pink - can be zipped-on for additional visibility during the winter months. The fabrics we use for our backpacks are made of 100% recycled PET bottles. The jury liked the combination of our WOW factors as much as the our brand philosophy.

Enjoyment of work plays an important role for ergobag. Everything we do is marked by team spirit, enthusiasm and dedication. This is also reflected in our way of communcation. We are always trying to have a direct contact to our customers and are happy about the feedback and comments of our fans on facebook. This feedback is really important to us as we learn a lot and are able to implement as many wishes and suggestions to the development of our products as possible. This characterizes our brand as well.

The idea, the concept and the designs of FOND OF BAGS have been widely recognized: for instance, with the German Design Award 2015, the red dot design award 2011 and 2013, as a prizewinner in the competition "365 landmarks in the land of ideas" and in the business plan competition enable2start. In 2012, the founders made it to the final of the German Start-up Prize.

 The Brand Award

The Brand Award is one of the largest brand events in Germany and has been initiatet by the German marketing magazine absatzwirtschaft, supported by the German Marketing Association. As from 2001 companys are honored for their excellent performance in branding every year. Prizes are awarded in three categories: "Best Brand Momentum", "Best Brand Relaunch" and "Best Brand Turn". Additionally there is a special award for changing topics. The members of the jury are prestigious representatives from economy, companys and Media. McKinsey & Company counter-check the finalists.

Winner 2015

We won the special award for the best new brand. Beside us, the finalists for the three categories were many established brands.

"Best Brand Momentum": Bild won this prize due to their consequent digital strategy and the convincing implementation of their subscription service BILDplus.

Vorwerk received the award for "Best Brand Relaunch", because of their repositioning and the implementation of a consequent strategy for an umbrella brand.

Because of their development of new potential customers with the Porsche Macan, Porsche received the award "Best Brand Turn".
