ergobag siblings

At ergobag, many of our staff members come from big families with lots of siblings. At company headquarters in Cologne, where space is tight, they infuse the work environment with the same familiar sense of trust in one another. With so much closeness between us, it's no wonder the entire ergobag crew feels like one big family. But relationships between siblings don't just play a major role in real life, they are also the background for many great works of literature. In light of this, today we'd like to share five of our favorite ergobag sibling stories from the world of literature.

Lottie and Lisa

Written by Erich Kästner and published in 1949, this story about twin sisters Lottie and Lisa continues to delight readers both young and old. Separated at birth due to their parents' divorce, the two girls grow up unaware of each others' existence until they meet by chance at summer camp. At the end of the summer, they decide to trade places and see what the other's life is like. Chaos is in store, and the girls' prank leads to much confusion among the clueless parents. A fun read for the entire family!

Hanni and Nanni

The adventures of twin sisters Hanni and Nanni at the Lindenhof boarding school are legendary and especially popular with young girls in Germany. In no time at all, you'll feel like a fellow student at Lindenhof and a life-long friend of these unlikely twins and their schoolmates.

The Children on Troublemaker Street

Lotta, Jonas and Maria are three siblings who live on what their father dubs Troublemaker Street. In this Astrid Lindgren classic, the siblings build a treehouse, spend time at their neighbor Aunt Berg's house and turn the living room into a pirate's castle. There's never a dull moment.

The Brothers Lionheart

This enchanting story of fantasy by Astrid Lindgren takes place inside the magical world of sagas and fairy tales and appeals to young and old alike. Every night, big brother Jonathan reads little brother Karl stories about the faraway land of Nangiyala, a paradise where people go when they die – and where the two brothers themselves eventually meet and must protect their new home from a dangerous tyrant. Much adventure lies in store for the Brothers Lionheart, enrapturing readers from the first page to the last.

Little Women

Four sisters live with their mother during the time of the American Civil War, taking care of the family and holding close to one another. The strong bond between the sisters helps the family get through tough times. When the neighbor's tutor falls in love with oldest sister Meg and asks for her hand in marriage, the balance is rocked and the sisters deal with the impending changes to all that is familiar. Louisa May Alcott's story about the strong bond between sisters has captivated generations and is a true reading adventure. School bag ready… steady… go!
